Position Description

We are gearing up for a very exciting period in our long history and currently have an opening for a Director of Financial Aid at our Hayward campus.
 
Key responsibilities of this role include: 
  • Supervise the Financial Aid team at the campus level.
  • Counsel students on financial aid issues in order to  assist new and returning students in financing their tuition, books and other educational costs.
  • Ensure timely and accurate awarding, authorization, and disbursement of federal and state financial aid at the campus level
  • Process loan applications and forwards MPN to the lenders and electronic application to grantors.
  • Resolve any conflicting information, ensuring complete and accurate processing and maintaining compliance with all program requirements.
  • Provide courteous and efficient service to all Heald students seeking financial aid and, to assist the students in minimizing their debt by educating them on the importance of repaying student loans in a timely fashion.
  • Act as a liaison to Corporate Financial Aid
  • Help train campus Financial Aid Staff
  • Monitor Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • Determine a student’s eligibility for Federal Work Study and SEOG, and “package” (or “repackage”).

The following is required to successfully fulfill the functions of this position:

  • Previous work experience in a financial aid office or educational setting.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Supervisor experience preferred.
  • Basic Computer Literacy
  • Reconciliation Skills
  • Proven ability to be detail oriented and analytical.
  • Good Communications Skills
  • Ability to Work in a team Environment
