Job Description

-(MH: Radiology Administration, Day shift, Full Time) -

Job Summary: The Radiology Support consistently anticipates and meets the needs of the patients. Supports compassionate and personalized patient-centered care in an environment that focuses on healing body, mind and spirit. Mentors and coaches staff in implementing and sustaining patient-centered care culture, processes, and clinical practices that create high customer engagement. Follows established guidelines to receive and answer patient questions, comments or complaints. Obtains patient demographic, insurance and guarantor information required to register patients into Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to ensure that complete and accurate accounts are produced. Provides clerical support for the Radiology and Imaging Department. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum two years previous medical or clerical experience required.

Knowledge and Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients, physicians and co-workers. Ability to utilize all radiology-related computer programs (Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS)) and proficiently use word processing software. Exposure to medical terminology preferred. Able to keyboard 30 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate and troubleshoot basic office and patient care equipment required for the position; perform required patient care activities related to the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.

Licensures and Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within thirty (30) days of hire.
