The Semel Institute is seeking to hire a Bilingual Limited Part Time Lab Assistant I to work with the Researchers in the H.E.A.R.T (Health Equity and Access Research and Treatment) Laboratory.

Major duties include laboratory research support and task are as follows:

  • Assist with conducting qualitative interviews in English and Spanish.
  • Enter and manage research data.
  • Assist with organizing and storing data.
  • Assist with other general lab tasks.
  • Assist with recruitment and enrollment of participants in research study.
*Please note that this limited position may convert to career.

Pay Range: $19.32 - $22.37 hourly.
Qualifications

  • Spanish speaking abilities required.
  • Ability to coordinate data collection and data entry for research studies.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and congenially with all staff, faculty, students, patients and the public at all times.
  • Skill at prioritizing assignments and ability to work concurrently on several projects.
  • Ability to function effectively with several interruptions.
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks with minimal direction.
  • High level ability in the use of a PC using all Windows applications.
  • Skill in maintaining organized filing systems.
  • Skill in editing reports, correspondence, manuals, etc., for grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in the strictest sense.
  • Skill in maintaining accurate timekeeping.
  • High school diploma required, BA preferred.
