Job Description Summary

The Managing Principal is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction by creating and implementing strategic business plans to maximize business development, profitability, quality client service and expansion of market share. The Managing Principal should create an environment in his or her territory to attract and retain the best professionals and ensure these teams are delivering exceptional value to our clients.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate best practices in leadership and talent strategy as evidenced by increased bench strength and achievement of organizational objectives. Mentor, guide and coach brokers and other service line managers to expand their capabilities within C&W. Ensure that the most effective individuals and teams with the appropriate skills are available to develop and execute strategies.
  • Actively recruits new brokers and/or broker teams. Accountable to retain and motivate the most highly-skilled and successful brokers, service line professionals and staff to achieve growth and maximize revenue goals.
  • Inspire and motivate diverse teams of employees. Empower employees to share their ideas and views. Create a collaborative, engaging work environment.
  • Establish and maintain strong knowledge, awareness and understanding of the markets' dynamics. Exercise clear leadership and focus in such areas as market conditions, competitive activities, and general economic conditions.
  • Accountable for achieving short-and long-range operating objectives and financial targets
  • Understand all facets of Cushman & Wakefield's business, services provided and clients served; collaborate with other leaders, service lines and functional departments.
  • Uphold the mission and standards of Cushman & Wakefield and support firm-wide initiatives and policies.
  • Take action to correct unsatisfactory conditions that may arise and directs whatever action may be deemed necessary to accomplish business objectives.
  • Facilitate resolution of conflicts impartially by maintaining integrity, professionalism, communication and a focus on client satisfaction.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required. An MBA or other advanced degree with real estate or operations concentration is highly desirable.
  • 15+ years of commercial real estate brokerage and/or asset management experience.
  • Demonstrate ability in leading, motivating and inspiring diverse work teams. Be fluent in the language and principals of institutional investment real estate.
  • Strong credibility in the local market, with the ability to recruit and retain key talent.
  • Extensive experience working with institutional clients with a knowledge of development, property management, asset sales, contract negotiations, gross and/or net leasing, re-positioning, real estate valuation metrics, and risk management strategies.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a solid ability to think and communicate strategically.
