Responsibilities

The CCU Charge Nurse is responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Direct supervises and communications with all staff along with the Director of Cardiac Care Services. Assists the Department Director in the daily operation of the unit, directing, supervising and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment and staff. Ensures the efficient functions of the department. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.

Qualifications
  • Current California Registered Nurse license
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of one year as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; Critical Care setting preferred.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certificate (BCLS)
  • Current ACLS certificate
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • CCRN within 2 years of hire preferred
  • Professional Certification within 2 years of hire preferred
  • Critical Care Course required

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $50.48 to $72.13. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
