Summary

Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Reporting. This team works on various technical accounting and financial reporting areas. This position will be responsible for the end-to-end process for all SEC filings, including the 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and proxy statements, to ensure that the financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (U.S. GAAP) and SEC Regulations.


This position requires significant interaction with individuals internal and external to the organization, including management, independent auditors, SEC legal counsel, and other service providers. This position requires the ability to research accounting guidance and interpret transactions in a clear and concise manner for multiple audiences.

Key Job Elements

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manage the SEC reporting process for all SEC filings, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A, to ensure compliance with all reporting and disclosure requirements under the U.S. GAAP and the SEC.
  • Stay current on technical accounting matters, monitor changes to accounting and reporting guidance, assess the impact, and make necessary changes to disclosures, policies, and controls as appropriate.
  • Review, analyze, and comply with disclosure requirements to support the production of the 10-K and 10-Q reports.
  • Prepare financial statements and footnotes for the annual 10-K and quarterly 10-Q filings.
  • Assist with research on technical accounting topics and implementing new accounting standards.
  • Understand internal accounting policies and maintain Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance for controls over financial reporting.
  • Work as the liaison with external contacts, such as SEC legal counsel and auditors, to resolve key accounting issues and reflect positions accurately in the financial statements.
  • Support the external reporting processes such as quarterly earnings including financial information and detail in the earnings releases and formal public comments.
  • Contribute toward improving efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in the monthly/quarterly reporting process and deliverables.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or Mater's with major in accounting with 6+ years of experience either at a Big Four public accounting firm or a combination of public accounting and public company experience.
  • Experience in both SEC reporting and technical accounting.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. GAAP, SOX 404b compliance, and SEC reporting regulations
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft office.

  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
