YOU

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, analyzing, and reconciling transactions and GL balances. You are responsible for creating and delivering accurate and timely financial information to branch management.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING(% of Time)

Perform various monthly closing activities, including journal voucher preparation and accuracy check on others, account reconciliation, and earnings analysis. Trial balance reconciliations and review of the general ledger to ensure it is accurate and complete. Check and analyze financial information and prepare financial reports so that management has accurate and timely information for making decisions. These reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, monthly financial presentation, among other analytics. (45%)

Maintain accurate monthly customer, builder, and buying group rebate accruals. Responsible for creation of all branch owned rebate contracts and maintenance of contracts within the SAP system. Evaluate all rebate settlements prior to creation. Create rebate settlements within the SAP system. (20%)

Assist in establishing and maintaining company accounting policies and procedures to ensure conformance with US GAAP. Assist other control owners with ensuring conformance with US GAAP. Create and compile monthly reports to fulfill various controls. (15%)

Assist with annual budget planning and budget reporting for management. (10%)

Preparation of monthly department metrics for management review. (5%)

Other duties as assigned. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree required. (B.A./B.S.).
  • 5 years accounting experience (in a manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Analysis/Reasoning: Ability to analyze and collect data. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, discounts, interest, commissions, ratios, proportions, percentages.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to have attention to detail and ensure accuracy of information. Ability to identify options for solving a problem and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses.
  • Accountability & Dependability: Ability to meet productivity standards, deadlines and work schedules. Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality and respect the privacy of others. Ability to fulfill all commitments made to peers, co-workers, and supervisor. Ability to hold self and others accountable for measurable, high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results. Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Self-Management/Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities upon direction. Ability to set well-defined and realistic personal goals. Ability to set priorities, goals and timetables to achieve maximum productivity. Ability to be self-directed to solve business issues.
  • Coaching & Mentoring: Strong interpersonal skills. Possesses people development and delegation skills. Ability to provide timely guidance and feedback to help staff accomplish a task or solve a problem and help others be more successful.
  • Finance / Accounting Skills: Understanding of US GAAP.
  • Computer / Software Skills: Ability to work in a Microsoft software environment. Excellent Microsoft Excel experience to include vLookups, Pivot Tables, IF statements, etc. Knowledge of SAP (S4/Hana preferred) functionality and business application preferred, BPC or similar preferred.

This job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. are frequently used.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires less than 5% domestic travel.

This full-time, exempt position is located in Riverside, CA.

Pay

$60,900 - $97,400 / Year
